A Moods Profile is a snapshot that captures the unique way in which someone combines the 6 Moods in their personality. It consists of a Moods Palette (the bubbles) and a Moods Signature (the horizontal list of mood icons)
The Moods Palette is an objective measurement of your ability to operate in each of the 6 Moods. The Moods Signature notates from left to right your mood preferences, in decreasing order from Home, through Comfortable, and to Uncomfortable.
Very successful people tend to have a very balanced Moods Palette and a fully open Moods Signature.
This means that they have more moods in their emotional repertoire, and use more of them more skilfully and readily.
The Moods Palette shows you what you’ve got to work with, and the Moods Signature shows how you prefer to use it at this point in your life. Take a 6 Moods test to see what your Moods Profile looks like.
In the meantime, if you compare and contrast the two Moods Profiles of Lucy and George on this page you can probably easily work out that the interactions between them are not very smooth…
From all 6 of the moods, only F+ (Charm) and F~ (Collaborate) are mutually Comfortable! And the Home mood of one person is Uncomfortable for the other…
So, if you’re one of the two people in this relationship and you want to improve the quality of your interactions, you’ve got only two options: keep the interactions in the two mutually Comfortable moods at all times (which is really hard!) or broaden your own emotional repertoire to include more of the other person’s Comfortable moods.
This isn’t easy either. However, over the long term, it’s the more sustainable and rewarding option.
Because expanding your own emotional repertoire to improve this one relationship will have knock-on benefits in all your other similar relationships. You are doing it because of them right now, but for you in the long-term.
The 6 Moods approach works whether the relationship that is causing you difficulties right now is an existing client, a business prospect, one of your children, a couple of friends, your romantic partner, etc.
And that’s where the BED Drivers come in.
